We stayed in a king suite, room 207. Despite it being right next to the elevator and ice machine, it was quiet and still felt private. I've stayed at the Majestic many times over the years and I consider it my special secret spot in SF. Not sure if it's under new ownership or not but this time the room was particularly clean and the overall vibe was more welcoming than ever- also there was breakfast included and I appreciated the fresh fruit and little omelettes. This spot has great value: comfy, often spacious, classically decorated rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, bathtubs(!), big windows, and bathrobes. Great location if you like it quiet and off the beaten path but still walkable, and there's always street parking (free on weekends) which is a huge boon when most other spots in the city charge $50-70 a night for parking else you risk getting your windows smashed parking on the street. That risk may still exist here, but much less so than even a few blocks closer to the center. I love Hotel Majestic and I hope it stays sweet forever. Also, thank you for the late checkout today!

Hotel Majestic is a gem. We wanted an older hotel, part of the history of San Francisco. There is a photo in the lobby of the Hotel Majestic before the 1906 Earthquake! Hotel Majestic is elegant. It is beautifully decorated, including hand-painted murals in the elevator. Despite its age, it was exquisitely clean, without visible flaws, and everything worked. The staff, everyone from the concierge to the wait staff at breakfast, was either pleasantly friendly, or going out of their way to be helpful. For example, the night we ordered room service from the bar, (try the crab cakes!) there was a small discrepancy in our order, not enough to bother them about. Minutes later, here's the chef, knocking on our door, with the corrected order and apologies. Hotel Majestic is located within two blocks of bus lines that go everywhere in the city, and walking distance from Japan Town. The only thing that could have been better about our stay, after four nights, is if we could have stayed longer.

I absolutely loved it! It was beautiful historic Victorian hotel, oldest longest continuously operating hotel in San Francisco as I learned. With beautiful collection of butterflies at the hotel bar! super beautiful! Room was cozy, older features brings you to the fancy past times. Hotel bathrobes was one of the coziest I’ve tried on! I wanted to purchase one but I forgot to ask about it in the check out so I need to come back again! Also received complimentary continental breakfast (muffins, bagels, toast, hard boiled eggs, butter, jam, yogurt, fruit, cereals, fresh OJ & coffee) Staff was nice, very helpful & also told us about the history of the hotel. I can’t wait to come back, I took my boyfriend as a birthday trip & I chose this place and he totally loved it and wants to come back there for our future trip to SF. 100% recommended, especially if you’re old soul and enjoy history.

The ambience was just as described, a step back in time to a luxurious bygone age. The staff were extremely helpful and made us feel at home, especially Carl who brought cocktails and dreams to life for us and even made time to help us plan our activities. Breakfast was buffet style as it often is in the USA but food selection was better than most and the linen tablecloths and silver cutlery made it such an enjoyable experience. I could even get a cup of hot English tea at any time of the day. The location was excellent, in a safe area of the city, with great bus services, or short taxi rides, to all places we wanted to visit. They even have driverless taxis in San Francisco. For the price we paid, Hotel Majestic was exceptional value for money. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.

We truly LOVED that the hotel had real plates and cutlery, as we have experienced more plastic/paper in other hotels. Still, the butter, jam and spreads could have been offered fresh rather than plastic packaging. We were happy about our standard room, the bed was comfortable. The facilities of the room were satisfying, service was nice.
